Virginia Luis Fuentes

Virginia Luis Fuentes graduated from Cambridge Veterinary School in 1984. Before she began to teach at the University of Edinburgh, she took five - years practice and received the title RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) in the field of radiology and cardiology of small animals. In 1992, she received a scholarship PDSA and she worked on her PhD thesis, covering subjects of dilated cardiomyopathy echocardiographic evaluation. In 1994 she received the title of Specialist RCVS in the field of veterinary cardiology. In 1997 prof. Luis Fuentes moved to the University of Missouri in Columbia (USA), where she worked as an assistant professor, and in 2001 she was an assistant professor supervising the student practice at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Ohio State University. In 2004, she supported university staff in Royal Veterinary College in London. Her interests focus on echocardiography and myocardial diseases in dogs and cats. Her research concern hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in cats, the role of endothelial cells in dogs as well as echocardiography and evaluation of magnetic resonance imaging of mitral regurgitation. Outside of academic work, prof. Fuentes spents time working in cardiac clinic at the Queen Mother Hospital. She is interested in all aspects of cardiology, especially in heart disease in cats and mitral regurgitation.
Lynelle R. Johnson

Dr. Johnson received the title of veterinarian at Ohio State University, then he spent three years in a small animal clinic in New York, and graduated MA and residency at the University of Illinois. He is a certified member of the American College of Veterinary Medicine. The theme of research thesis of dr Johnson was a feline asthma. After residency, Dr. Johnson held an internship in the field of oncology and radiology at Colorado State University. He received a grant funded by the National Institute of Health Heart, Lung and Blood on the study of the effects of physical activity on vascular function in the lungs, and in 2000 received a PhD in Physiology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Johnson is the editor of the chapter on respiratory diseases in the publication of "5 Minute Veterinary Consult and Current Veterinary Therapy XV," and recently wrote a textbook in the field only to respiratory diseases "Clinical Canine and Feline Respiratory Medicine". He is a member of the Veterinary and Comparative Respiratory Society.
Dr. Johnson's research interests include clinical respiratory disease of dogs and cats, and interactions heart-respiratory system. In December 2000, Dr. Johnson started working at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, where he is currently a professor at the Department of Internal Medicine and Epidemiology. He is leading classes in the field of respiratory diseases and clinical medicine for veterinary students and consultations in the field of endoscopy and physiology of the respiratory system for residents.
John D. Bonagura

In 1974 he obtained the title of Master of Science (MS) in the field of veterinary physiology and pharmacology. In the same year he graduated from veterinary at Ohio State University. He did an internship of small animal internal medicine in the Animal Medical Center in New York, and a two-year residency in cardiology at Ohio State University Veterinary Hospital. Professor Bonagura for over thirty years is a certified ACVIM specialist in internal medicine and cardiology. Currently he serves as a head of the cardiology clinic at Ohio State University. His scientific interests include: echocardiography, hemodynamics, clinical pharmacology the cardiovascular system and comparative cardiology. He is co-founder of Cardiac Education Group, and author of one of the best textbooks Kirk's Current Veterinary Therapy, who now has the fifteenth edition.
Kenneth Kwochka

Dr. Kwochka received a diploma in veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri. After an internship in internal medicine and surgery of small animals in South Shore Veterinary Associates in Boston, he finished veterinary dermatology residency at the University of Florida. It then became a certified member of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology. He is currently a president of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology Administrative Committee (AC WAVD) and manager of Veterinary Services - Health and Wellness in a company Bayer Health Care LLC Animal Health. For years, he conducts numerous trainings and researches in the evaluation of new medical products placed on the veterinary market. He has 25 years of experience as both a practice and a university lecturer. Dr. Kwochka worked in many institutions, including The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Dermatology Clinic in Marina del Rey, California, as well as Southeast Veterinary Dermatology and Ear Clinic in Mount Pleasant and Greenville. For seven years he was vice president of research and development in the DVM Pharmaceuticals and Teva Animal Health. Dr. Kwochka is the author of over one hundred theses and co-author of numerous books, editor of three books and numerous conference materials, as well as the reviewer of many scientific publications. He is a long-term president of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology, and now also a secretary of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Kwochka for many years supports the Morris Animal Foundation. Fo huge contribution in the development of veterinary dermatology, he has been awarded numerous prizes, including Stanford University School of Medicine Outstanding Veterinary Dermatologist Award and the American College of Veterinary Dermatology Award of Excellence.
Nadine Fiani

DVM, BVSc (Hons), DAVDC, Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service Dr. Fiani graduated with honors from the Veterinary University of Sydney in 2005, and then took an internship with small animal medicine and surgery at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Camden. Here she started to be interested in advanced techniques in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. To deepen her knowledge, Dr. Fiani completed a three-year residency at the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital at the University of California at Davis, thereby becoming a certified specialist in American Veterinary Dental College. Dr. Fiani is working at the faculty of veterinary medicine at Cornell University in New York.
Today, Dr. Fiani is the only certified veterinary dentist in New South Wales. Her main interests include endodontics, orthodontics and maxillofacial reconstructive surgery. She has particular interest for dentistry of wild animals and therefore she is a main dentist at Taronga Zoo and Mogo Zoo in Australia.
Ludovica Dragone

Ludovica Dragone in 2002 graduated from the University of Parma in Italy, defending a thesis on the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of dogs under the care of dr Luisa De Risio. Her knowledge she expanded in the US, where she practiced at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine University of Tennessee under the supervision of prof. Darryl Millis and in North Carolina under the supervision of prof. Denis Marcellin. In 2005, at the University of Tennessee received the title CCRP (the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner). She participated in numerous continuing education seminars on rehabilitation, both domestic and international, not only as a student but also as a lecturer. Since 2003 she participates in meetings of lifelong learning SINVet (Italian Society of Veterinary Neurology), and since 2006 she is the director of courses in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation dogs organized by SCIVAC (Italian Companion Animal Veterinary Association). Since 2007 she is leading the research group, which deals with the Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation of dogs, and since 2010 she has been a president of SIFiRVet (Italian Society of Veterinary Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation). Since 2011, she has been a vice president of VEPRA (Veterinary European of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Association). Ludovica Dragone is the author of a large number of articles on rehabilitation and manual Fisioterapia Riabilitativa del cane e del gatto (Ed Elsevier 2010). She also created a DVD Vet Unit Fisioterapia: Itinerario Clinico e Metodiche Med Tutor Veterinaria (Ed UTET 2012). She is a co-author and author of one of the chapters of the second edition of the manual Canine Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy (Millis and Levine, Ed Elsevier, 2013). She co-created the monograph of hip dysplasia (Ed Merial, in press). Ludovica Dragone runs her own veterinary practice - Dog Fitness in Reggio Emilia, Italy, where she runs rehabilitation of dogs and cats using the latest available techniques.
Barret J. Bulmer

Dr Barret Bulmer received a diploma in veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University and completed his internship in the field of small animal medicine at Colorado State University. At the University of Illinois took a residential internship and completed his studies reciving a master's degree. In 2002 he became a certified member of the cardiology section of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. After completing his residency, Dr. Bulmer began in 2002 work on the Kansas State University as a professor, co-creating the first university program in the field of cardiology. In 2006, dr Bulmer joined the team at Oregon State University, where in 2009 he was appointed a professor. Dr Bulmer is the author of numerous articles published in JAVMA, AJVR, JVIM and the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology and also several chapters that are part of such books as Texbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Current Veterinary Therapy XIV and The Clinical Veterinary Advisor. He has given more than 80 hours of lectures in the context of lifelong learning at local meetings and national and international conferences. Dr Bulmer has been honored with numerous awards such as Carl Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award at Oregon State University, Clinical Teaching Award at Kansas State University, Resident Teaching Award at the University of Illinois and the Outstanding Small Animal Intern Award at Colorado State University.
Philippe Benoit

Dr. Philippe Benoit since many years is taking care of the horses of french team, competing in the show jumping. Earlier as a french team doctor. IO in the years 1992 - 2000, now as a consultant, he cares about the health and the best form of elite sport horses during competitions, training and rehabilitation. From his experience also benefit other national teams, including US and Saudi Arabia (the team doctor during the Olympic Games in London 2012). In 1989 he graduated from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d'Alfort, and two years later became a university teacher in the field of exercise physiology and nutrition of sport horses, being involved in several research projects conducted by the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d'Alfort. Dr. Benoit founded Clinique Equine des Bréviaires in 1993. The range of services of the clinic is primarily orthopedics, sports medicine, and internal medicine. Doctors working in the clinic have big experience in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of lamenesses and "poor performance" syndrom. As a rider has won the French University Championship in WKKW, in 1991 and 1992 and the 5th place in the University World Championships. Very strongly associated with FEI (a member of the FEI Veterinary Committee) and the co-founder of ISHVA. Dr. Philippe Benoit prefers teaching in a highly interactive environment of open discussion and exchange of ideas. Every year he conducts many lectures and workshops around the world on topics related to lameness in horses, using ultrasound in orthopedics and any other areas of sports medicine in horses.
David Polzin

David Polzin is a graduate of the University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he graduated in 1975. He completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of Georgia in 1981, then returned to the University of Minnesota to complete his doctorate in veterinary medicine. Prof. Polzin has in his resume membership in many professional associations: AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association), ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine), (AAHA) American Animal Hospital Association, Iris (International Renal Interest Society), Society of Veterinary Nephrology / Urology, VECCS (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society), MVMA (Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association), ASN (American Society of Nephrology), ISN (International Society of Nephrology) and the National Kidney Foundation. As a professor at the University of Minnesota teaches about diseases and physiology of the kidney and urinary tract infections. He is interested in the research focuses on chronic kidney disease, methods of diagnosis, treatment of acid-base balance and the development of chronic kidney disease, glomerulopatias - pathology, mechanisms and treatment of urinary tract infections and autoimmune hemolytic anemia. His clinical interest focused on clinical nephrology, hypertension, urinary tracts infections and diseases of the lower urinary tract. Prof. Polzin is the author of many scientific publications and co-author of the manual Nephrology and Urology of Small Animals, which he wrote together with Joseph Bartgesem
Tamara Grubb

Tamara Grubb DVM, MS, DACVA, jest dyplomowanym anestezjologiem weterynaryjnym. Zainteresowania kliniczne i prace badawcze dr Grubb koncentrują się wokół leczenia bólu. Obecnie zajmuje stanowisko adiuntkta z zakresu anestezjologii I leczenia bólu w Szkole Weterynaryjnej na Washington State University. Jest absolwentką Texas A&M University, na którym ukończyła licencjat w 1985 roku oraz zdobyła tytuł lekarza weterynarii w 1989 roku. Po studiach dr Grubb pracowała w klinice weterynaryjnej zajmującej się medycyną dużych i małych zwierząt, a następnie odbyła staż z zakresu chorób dużych zwierząt i chirurgii na Oregon State University. Po zakończeniu stażu rozpoczęła program rezydentury z anestezjologii na University of Illinois, gdzie uzyskała również status dyplomowanego członka ACVA oraz ukończyła studia z zakresu kardiologii. Przed rozpoczęciem pracy na Washington State University, dr Grubb zajmowała stanowiska w dwóch innych szkołach weterynaryjnych (The Ohio State University & Oregon State University) oraz w firmie farmaceutycznej (Pfizer Animal Health). Poza pracą na uniwersytecie dr Grubb jest również dyplomowaną akupunkturzystką oraz partnerem w prywatnej klinice małych zwierząt. Wśród najbardziej cenionych wyróżnień, jakie otrzymała, należy wymienić nagrody dydaktyczne Carl J. Norden Distinguished Teaching Award, Westcott Clinical Teaching Award oraz Newbrey Teaching Scholar Award.
