Dr Barret Bulmer received a diploma in veterinary medicine at Louisiana State University and completed his internship in the field of small animal medicine at Colorado State University. At the University of Illinois took a residential internship and completed his studies reciving a master's degree. In 2002 he became a certified member of the cardiology section of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. After completing his residency, Dr. Bulmer began in 2002 work on the Kansas State University as a professor, co-creating the first university program in the field of cardiology. In 2006, dr Bulmer joined the team at Oregon State University, where in 2009 he was appointed a professor. Dr Bulmer is the author of numerous articles published in JAVMA, AJVR, JVIM and the Journal of Veterinary Cardiology and also several chapters that are part of such books as Texbook of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Current Veterinary Therapy XIV and The Clinical Veterinary Advisor. He has given more than 80 hours of lectures in the context of lifelong learning at local meetings and national and international conferences. Dr Bulmer has been honored with numerous awards such as Carl Norden-Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award at Oregon State University, Clinical Teaching Award at Kansas State University, Resident Teaching Award at the University of Illinois and the Outstanding Small Animal Intern Award at Colorado State University.
