Rebecca L. Stepien

Rebecca L. Stepien is a graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Residency in cardiology she held at Ohio State University. Then she taught at the Royal Veterinary College in London and at the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. Prof. Stepien is currently a professor at the University of Wisconsin, where since 1994, oversees the practice of students, teaches and treats patients. Rebecca Stepien has a master degree of Clinical Sciences, certified specialist of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in cardiology and former president in specialty of cardiac ACVIM. Her scientific and clinical interests focus on the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diseases of the mitral valve at the greyhound, treatment of heart failure and ethics in veterinary medicine. Prof. Stepien actively participates and lectures at international conferences. In 2008 was awarded the British Small Animal Veterinary Medical Association Bourgelat Award for outstanding contribution to the practice of  small anima lveterinary medicine.
