Dr. Howard B Seim III DVM, DACVS, graduated from Washington State University and completed his internship in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in Canada, and two-year residency program of surgery at Animal Medical Center in New York. In 1983 he was awarded the status of a qualified member of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Today, Dr. Seim works at the Department of Surgery at Colorado State University. Since 1992 to 2002 he served as head of the Department of Small Animal Surgery at CSU. Dr. Seim received awards Merck AGVET Award for Creative Teaching for achievements in the field of creative teaching and CSU Award for Instructional Innovation for innovation in teaching and he was elected in 2009 a Lecturer of the Year in the field of small animal diseases on the North American Veterinary Conference. Dr. Seim is the creator of the VideoVet cycle, or a series of training videos, as part of continuing education of veterinarians in the specialization of surgery.
